good music doesn't only happen in capitals. in january 2026 we opened a call with форма шума, a krasnodar promo team: any genre, anyone from the south who wants to play and become part of the community. our curators rostislav and kirill spent weeks looking for artists, talked to them and went through dozens of applications. (3594, 3798)
the result: 19 artists, 2 stages, 9 hours, one night. 11 april 2026, podpolye, 18:00 to 03:00. the announcement got 14,058 views and 378 forwards, one of the most read posts paprika ever had. (3826)
a week before, a prelude at troubadour bar. in the timetable, at midnight: "[police pause]". the teaser said: "as is local tradition, we expect uninvited guests (we predicted their visit in the line-up)". (3848, 3849)
the build was diy. nine days out we asked readers: "does anyone have 30 pallets at home?" — plus a combo amp, a projector, lights, fan barriers and volunteers. the kitchen was run by friends from troubadour, and its profit went to krasnodog, a local animal shelter. (3847, 3861)
it was my idea, and i produced it remotely as creative producer: the format, the team, the investors and partners, the venue, art direction. about 400 people came and the night closed in profit. three days later the team wrote: "it was game-changing." (3910)
the festival grew two more things: a zine about the city's diy scene and a cassette.
