in classical music an impromptu is a written piece made to sound as if it came up in the moment. we wanted the real thing: an evening where spontaneity isn't imitated, it happens. music doesn't accompany the dance, dance doesn't illustrate the music, and the audience is part of the space. then we did proper pr. in nine days early-bird tickets were gone and we released 20 more at 900 ₽. on the day tickets were 1,300 ₽, 1,500 at the door, and fewer than 50 were left. we sold about 200. (4000, 4033, 4055)

afterwards we wrote: "our first experience of this scale in moscow." it was hard financially and physically, and "especially to promote". (4060)
