story · 2 min
it started as a random idea: what if the magazine about rage could be walked through?
in january 2026 we asked readers to lend us speakers, players and microsd cards. over two months we recorded voices in moments of anger and overload and built a labyrinth from them: 40 speakers, 20 sound sources, 150 metres of cable. voices layered and shifted as you moved, so no two visitors heard the same thing. 10–11 february 2026, fābula hq, moscow. free entry. the team paid for it from its own pockets. the wrap-up post listed the rest: "dozens of calls, the team's personal money, … an endless search for sound systems, plain transport of equipment. not everything went to plan." (3708)
how people reacted, as we saw it: anger turned into prostration, then overload, then despair. our curator yana spent half an hour alone in the middle of the noise and wrote: "i didn't have to go into the forest and scream at the fir trees." (3687, 3708)
it became the first physical form of silent riot, months before the print.
