I'm not the most talkative person.
I don't like superficial conversations
and small talk. And it's quite rare that I find
the opportunity and desire to open
up to someone. I quite often prefer
solitude. And I feel better
when I am on my own.
For my 22nd birthday, I wanted
to create an exhibition with
22 of my personal confessions.
Things I'd like to talk about.
Things I'd like to share.
Things that reveal me as
a person that none of you know.
The person I usually live alone with.
This is a performative act —
a way to expose the raw,
unfiltered attitude we have
toward others.
To turn myself inside out,
to break down all the
boundaries I build between
myself and the external world.
To boldly change the rules
of the game I am used to playing.
With the hope that I can break the fear
that prevents me from being open.
